Note: Yukko-chan is an old 25 cm (almost 10 '') doll with joints in her arms and legs, which give her the ability to ride her bycicle. You move the bycicle and her jointed legs push the pedals as if she's doing it by herself. There is a slit at the bottom of the shoes that helps attach her feet to the pedals, so they don't slip when she's on the bycicle. Hong Kong made, she was distributed by the US company TOMY Corp. in the mid 70's. Her face is reminiscent of Licca-chan. She goes by a different name, as well, which I think is her American name - Cycling Sheri. The slogan is "The amazing doll who really rides her own bycicle!".

TOMY made different Yukko-chan dolls for the series, such as Ballerina Yukko-chan, Walking Yukko-chan, Pianist Yukko-chan and lots of others. Yukko also had a boyfriend doll named Mabou and a female friend Yoko. Several lovely outfits were made for Yukko, one for each of her activities (she's a very active girl! ^_^), like camping or playing tennis.

Eye detailHer hair is in a very beautiful chestnut color and is nice and soft. She can't really stand on her own because her legs buckle and she "sags" to the floor as if weak or very frightened. ^^ She does pose wonderfully in a sitting position. I let her sit in my dollhouse on a comfy sofa next to a make-up table with lots of cosmetics and she seems very pleased. Her face is also most gorgeous and sweet. Overall, a gentle-looking doll with a clear 70's feel.

My Yukko-chan's wearing a cool retro orange-yellow outfit and white painted-on shoes (not removable, obviously). I got her for a great price from a fellow dolly fan and collector. I love her very much and am very happy to have her! ♥
