Note: One of the playline Licca series is the Yukata/Kimono Licca that has Licca dolls dressed in lovely traditional Yukata or Kimono. The fabric comes in different colors and patterns and the dolls' hairstyles are also very diverse. From ponytails, boyish cuts to curly buns and straight, sleek hair - there is just a very nice selection! The dolls are affordable (about $20?) by today's standards :) and special Kimono or Yukata are also available as clothing packs without the dolls. It appears Takara launched this cute series in 2003 and there's been a new set of dolls each year since then. My most favourite Licca in the series is from 2005 and has short brown hair and a yellow Yukata with green flowers and stars on it. Her haircut is one of the cutest ever - it's much shorter than my JTB Licca's and not as full and the shade is different (Yukata Licca's hair has a bit of red tint in there). It's close to the face and is like the perfect cut for a small girl. The style suits Licca's angelic face very much. ♥ I've seen this Licca re-dressed on a Japanese fansite and I immediately fell in love with her. She looked so different dressed in other clothes besides her Yukata!
The hair, lip and eye color combination is one of my faves. The lip is in a dark shade of pink with a touch of red, like a fresh rose. I call it "Snow White lips". The way it compliments the grass green of her eyes is wonderful. If you look at the picture of the eye detail above, you can see how well the brown of the eyelashes and the green eye color just pop out. Even one of the little highlight dots is green. This color design reminds me of browns and greens of a forrest. The hair color only adds to the beautiful picture. Yukata Licca has quickly become one of my fave playline Liccas ever, not just a fave Licca in the yukata line. If you want a pretty Licca that doesn't cost loads of money but stands out just as much in her own right as the expensive limiteds, I recommend this one! I think she's also a great 'beginner doll' if you're new to Licca dolls. Her hairstyle makes her versatile and is super easy to manage. Honestly, she is lovely beyond words and is one of the cutest Liccas on this Earth. ♥ I dressed her in a mix & match outfit for her first photoshoot - a pretty dress, sweater and socks and a pink heart necklace I've made. On some pictures she is posing with her friend Ballerina Licca. | back | |
