Note: For annual reports meant for their stockholders, the Licca company Takara (now Takara-Tomy) likes to produce a special not-for-sale Licca on the side as a gift. There are several Stockholders Liccas out there, like one for 1999, one for 2001, and so on. They call them "Generous treatment for stockholders" Liccas. This Licca from 2004 is also an Anniversary one, released for the Anniversary of 50 million Licca dolls sold. In her box is also a toy Choro Q car (or Q-Car) and a mini family board game Jinsei Game ('The Game of Life'), two well-known Takara classics that have entertained Japanese children and adults for decades. In 2004, almost 75% of Takara's net sales were toys. Takara's slogan is "Where dreams come true". And they do, with amazing Liccas like these! Since I'm not that interested in the box or other extras in it, merely in Licca-chan, I got her de-boxed and without the extras on Yahoo!Japan for cheap. :) She still had her original clothes, boots and stand. The starting price was just 800 Yen and the bids ended at 1100 Yen ($9.40). She's one of the cheapest Liccas I have which is amazing for a limited, not-for-sale doll! I've been eying the Stockholders Liccas for a while now and the moment I noticed the 2004 edition has pink curly hair, she instantly become a favourite! She's the 3rd pink-haired Licca in my collection. ^o^
Her hair is actually in pale pink shade. It's tied in two full, large ponytails. It compliments her sweet features (one would think so much hair volume would be distracting but it's not ^_^). The full hair catches everyone's eye and whenever people see her sitting in my dollhouse, they move closer for a better look. What a beautiful Licca! She reminds me greatly of the perfect and ingenious hairstyles of Licca Castle limited dolls. She has a great presence and that sweet, innocent air about her. It's dolls like these that show me just how fun the world of Licca is. | back | |
