Note: Every generation in the production of Licca dolls introduces a new group of friends for Licca. With 2nd gen in 1972 came a new headmold and look for Licca but also new friends. One of such dolls in the 2nd gen is Harumi. She has green eyes and dark blond hair curled stylishly. Her full name is Harumi Asaoka and she was produced in 1973 - 1980. Like with most dolls in the "Licca world", we get to know a few basic facts about her. Harumi's older sister is Licca's doctor Emily. Her parents own a supermarket near Licca's house. I got this Harumi together with her friend Licca in a single Yahoo!Japan auction. They're both in great condition, considering their age. Harumi's curls are a tad dry but way better than the hair on my other (repaired) Harumi that I got half a year ago. This Harumi's hairdo still holds beautifully and the hair feels silky where it doesn't curl, so it's in really nice condition overall. ^_^ And only a few hairs are a tad dry, the layers underneath are still soft. I'm so happy I got a vintage Harumi with nice hair. There's no paint fading on the face and no make-up chipping off besides the little itsy bitsy bit on Harumi's right (your right) eyebrow and that can be fixed in no time with a brush. The other Harumi I have has dry and quite messy hair, a split ankle, the wire inside her body broke and some bits of her make-up were repainted by the owner but I got her for cheap and I still may give her new hair or try to straighten the original. I fixed the ankle already with some glue and it looks fine with socks on. This Harumi, on the other hand, is in good condition but wasn't as cheap, though I have to remind myself the auction price was for TWO dolls and that in the end I actually got a good deal. :o) Together they were about $75 if you count all the deputy fees. $37.50 (aka half of the total) for a 2nd gen Licca in this condition is a great price because you get 2nd gen replicas for half so much and sometimes even for the same price. The auction had a lot of bids and I was fighting like a tiger to win! Yatta! ("I did it!")
She's a huge fave of mine now and she can look stunningly gorgeous on pictures. It's just... WOW. A very happy-looking doll which is a great plus to me. Harumi-chaaaan. ♥ Both dolls were wearing original 2nd gen dresses. You can see Harumi's on the 1st picture above. She looks like a child actress! A little diva in the making. *sigh* I think the dotted dress suits the feel of the 70's! Harumi should star in a movie like Grease! | back | |
